Dan Reed Network Singles From pre-Breathless era

EYE ON YOU

1985
Eye On You

THE SINGLE

Recorded by the original Dan Reed Network line-up of Dan, Melvin, Brion, Dan Pred, and Jeff Siri on keyboards, this 7" single was released in 1985 on Tandees Records only in the Portland, Oregon area. The version is quite different to the version that appears on Breathless.

The B-side was 'Come To Me' - which was later re-recorded as a B-Side for the Stardate 1990 single

This version of 'Eye On You' was also included on the Pride of Portland Charity album released in 1985

Dan Reed Network RAINBOW CHILD

THE SINGLE

The one that got away.... The national radio station in the UK and several others actually got behind the song and gave it serious airplay

There were several worldwide versions of this release, including in the UK, a 7" with a gatefold booklet, a CD Box set with prints and a limited edition yellow vinyl 12"with poster

The German and Australian CD singles' covers featured one of the symbols used in the Slam album artwork - the Hindu symbol for Disease

1990
Dan Reed Network STARDATE 1990

THE SINGLE

A newly recorded song and a double A-side with 'Rainbow Child' marked Dan Reed Network's support slot on the Rolling Stones' Urban Jungle Tour. 'Rainbow Child' got the radio airplay and snuck into the UK Top 40. It entered at #39, dropped to #40 the following week, and then slid away. So near...

'Come To Me' was the very first Dan Reed Network B-side - back in 1985 - the B-side of the original line-up's original 7" single release 'Eye On You'

Mix It Up charted at #49 in the UK

BABY NOW I

1991
Dan Reed Network BABY NOW I

THE SINGLE

A shamefully unpromoted single - no video and barely any marketing - almost as if the record company couldn't be bothered anymore...

No standard 12" version of this single was released

The rare uncut shaped picture disc is actually a mis-pressing where the shape has not been cut from the clear vinyl

'Living With A Stranger' was played live by Dan Reed Network as early as 1987 in a vastly different keyboard-driven format

Baby Now I charted at #65 in the UK

LONG WAY TO GO
